I'm Fuzzy Fungi! I go by the same name on Talk Rational. I have some other name on Rants n Raves but it's been changed recently and I don't feel like typing it out.

I recently graduated with a BSc in Physics with honours and am in the midst of a year off. I'm working on applications to grad schools and hope to end up somewhere cool doing astronomy or astrophysics!

I've heard nice things about this place, so I thought I would join and say hello!

Hey, my university has one of the top-ranked astronomy/astrophysics departments in the US:

The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Penn State (http://www.astro.psu.edu/) has one of the most productive astronomy research programs in the country, according to the recent multi-year study by the National Research Council. Penn State has the highest number of publications per faculty member per year, and the Department is in the top three (along with Princeton University and the California Institute of Technology) in the NRC Survey-based quality score.
