She was waiting in the registration queue, and I just let her in. She should be posting soon, if she so chooses. Welcome, Lana! :)

Be sure to find a way to tell us how your daughter is doing, but if you don't want to talk about it in an intro thread, that's fine.

My daughter is still planning to move here in May. I've taken time off work to drive down and get her. She called me last night and told me that at her last ultrasound they saw a white spot on the babies heart. This I guess means that the possiblity that the baby has downs is much higher than it would normally be. She's having amnio to find out for sure.
Of course I'm worried. I've been worried about this daughter since her father kicked her out of the house when she turned 18.
My bf of 3 years that I moved here to be with and I have broken up and he moved out last week. It's amicable and we are friends, but the impasse over his disagreement with my discipline of my 17 year old son reached epic proportions and tipped the balance from being able to put up with each others differences over on the not happening anymore.
I am poor from having to pay the full rent and lonely.
Life is tough at the moment.

:grouphug: Then now, more than ever, you need a place to talk to your friends and vent.
Not knowing anything about your son or your BF, I would still say that, as a mother, your first responsibility is to your minor son, not to an adult male who can damned well control his own behavior.

I have learned that as long as we stay, they will never get help. If there is any chance at all, then, leaving and taking a stand against the behavior is the only chance there is.

Oh he doesn't see himself at fault for anything. I've no hope for him in this regard. I'd rather just be alone even though it does suck and will take some getting used to.

I've gotten very used to the "living alone" life. It does indeed suck at times :( But I've also come to highly value my ability to choose anything for myself without having to seek approval from another.
I'm glad you're here with people you can talk about these things with, it hurts terribly at times to not be able to let the floodgates open up.
