Hi Monad! Where have you been?
Monad

On TR - I'm a bit reluctant to keep moving boards every few months

Aren't we all. But I'm starting to regard them more like shops on the high street: you go to different ones for different things... and the ones that have more of what you want, more often.

Well I was wondering where Christina, Goldie and several others had got to.

Hi Monad :)
I had gone into hiding almost a year ago for a while but I came back when Pendaric let me know about SC. All of the fighting and insulting people was too much for me over there and this is more my kind of place now. I'm glad that you showed up.

Anyway, welcome! I dislike changing boards frequently, too, but I like Oolon's analogy of shops on the street.

I don't mind changing boards. It's like moving to a new hangout with all of your friends that doesn't have all of that mess and sticky stuff on the floors when the old place is filthy and no one will clean it up. Different URL, same people, better ambiance, and good coffee instead of cheap beer and wine in a box.

some of us wield the mop , or try to, thank y'very much :) ;)

Yeah, but even you can't swab the deck fast enough to keep the sticky stuff from glomming the place up again ; )
(OK enough of my snark - sorry :) )

Glomming is a great word :)

Actually I ended up hiding the damn place - it was just getting ridiculous. I really have no time for whiners and petty bickering

I think TR is still tolerable if one keeps about a dozen people on "ignore" and avoids certain fora. :)

Yeah me too but I tend to (try and) ignore it (though it doesn't help that I recently got roped into modding).
I was wondering if you had got cut off as your last post was during the fires and JB had said you were OK but your connection was down.

I was wondering if you had got cut off as your last post was during the fires and JB had said you were OK but your connection was down.
Wow - I don't even remember posting on TR during the fire. I had my laptop during the evacuation and I remember posting a lot in a local forum where we were all trying to put together what we knew about what specific areas were burning, but I thought that I had already left TR by then. If JB is Jet Black I have no idea of how he would know how I was doing. I don't think that I've ever spoken more than a few sentences to the man but he might have heard something in the staff forum.
I'm sorry that I took off with no explanation and worried people but there was too much drama already for me to want to start any more of it and all I wanted was to get away from the my own disappointment over the place. I didn't realize that my PMs weren't getting forwarded so I never logged on to respond to any.

No James (Bannon) - at least I seem to recall him posting something to that effect (or did I imagine it?)

I did talk to James, so you didn't imagine it. I was getting confused there for a moment.
