I haven't used IE in ages. Is there a way to delete one item out of the history instead of clearing the whole thing?

Yes. The answer can be found on this webpage: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html

Heh... while generally I agree with the sentiments put forward above, (if you're feeling adventurous you could even give This one (http://www.opera.com/) or This one (http://www.apple.com/safari/) a go... :D ) if you want to delete entries individually in IE, you could just activate the history list (View > Explorer Bar > History), then 'right' click on whatever you want to delete and delete it... :)

I already use firefox on all of my machines and I already know how shitty IE is. This is my mom's computer and I don't want to confuse her even more by adding another browser. All I want to do is delete this site from the history before my sister gets here and uses this computer too. The last thing I want is for her to follow me here.
Thanks, Vill - that worked. Great avatar, BTW.

Have you ever thought about using Portable Firefox on a USB memory stick? You can synchronize it so you have the same bookmarks / favorites as you would on your normal browser at home, plus all the temp data, cookies & history is kept on the stick, so nothing to clean up on your moms machine (or any machine you might use it on in a public place for that matter)

You mean, you can choose your friends, but, alas, not your siblings?

Doesn't Firefox have a bookmarks synchronizer add-on?

I didn't know that I could do that. I have my laptop with me but the only wireless network I can pick up is secured. I'll check it out when I get home and sync my laptop with me desktop machine.

If you wake up one morning and see that some drunken woman has been shrieking at me in all caps all night, you'll know that I didn't cover my tracks well enough. I wonder how much I would have to pay the admins to ban her as a troll.

We'd take up a collection on your behalf, Christina. I'm sure we could buy them off nicely.

Yeah. Foxmarks (http://www.foxmarks.com/). It works great, and you can even log on to your account from another browser and still access your bookmarks, which I do frequently.

Awww thanks :). Take my word for it, if she followed me here you'd all want to pay to get rid of her. She'll be here tomorrow but I think I have my attitude together enough to not to take any shit from her this time but still control the urge to punch her like I did when I was a kid and she mouthed off.

Yeah I use that one as well -
PortableApps.com (http://portableapps.com)
This is what I use on a 4Gb memory stick I have when I'm working away and don't have quick access to the internet with my laptop - to be honest I mostly use the portable version of firefox (including the foxmarks add-on), but using it means the clutter from any browsing I do is kept on my memory stick rather than on the machine I plug into. I can also have a browser setup just the way I like it no matter where I connect...
