I found an interesting body language test:
Reading the mind in the eyes test (http://www.questionwritertracker.com/index.php/quiz/display?id=61&token=Z4MK3TKB)
I was astonished that I got a score of 32 out of 36 on the test. I didn't think I was very good at reading nonverbal cues and body language, but it looks like I don't give myself much credit! :) I'm going to be paying a lot more close attention to people's eyes from now on when I talk to them. :D
According to test, the average score is 26.2. Those with Asperger or high-function autism get an average score of 21.9.

I got score of 21. Well, that explains a lot.

Here's another test I found, but on facial expressions. I got all 10 right (that was pretty easy, though):

30 - wow! I thought I was really bad at reading expressions. But I found the women's eyes easier to read than the men's.

26. Which is a lot better than I thought I'd do when I was going through it.

I find it disturbing that I was torn between "flirtatious" and "hostile" on one of them. :D
I scored a 29.

As you admitted earlier, you do in fact have skill at interpreting facial expressions. :D
Maybe I'm a sadistic parent, but I just love the look of terror:

I know exactly the one you are talking about, because I had trouble with that one too.
I scored a 25.

I got a 27. I thought all the female eyes were a little flirtatious but none of the male eyes. That probably says more about me than the eyes.

Hm. 22.

29 - not too bad for me. Curiously, I misread the "alarmed" responses but got all the "suggestive" ones right!

I found that too. Some of them I did find somewhat hypnotic though! ;)

I'll see if I can get my autistic son to take it.

I found this really difficult to do without seeing the rest of the face and body - no context, only the eyes. I scored fairly low - 24.

Aack. I got 34 out of 36. I would never have guessed.
I looked at the eyes first, then the words. A lot of times, the words didn't quite match the feeling that I was getting from the eyes, so I took the closest match.
Were some of the eyes repeated with slightly different words, or is my facial recognition ability really poor?

I wonder if there's a statistically significant difference between male and female scores.

Ooh, good point. I also wonder if there is any coorelation between females reading females more accurately and men reading other men more accurately. Or any other combination.
The results of this test are unsatisfying to my OCD mind. :dunno:

23 here. I thought that was pretty shite in the scheme of things.
FWIW most of the errors i made were (a) guys, thinking they were more hostile or aggro than acxtuall and (b) wrongly thinking women were flirty or similar.
Probably some sound biological basis for that. Got the tribal animal genes kicking in and erring on the side of "they're a threat, take them out" or "try to fuck them" :D

Yes, they were. I found it a bit easier if I zoomed in to look at the pupils. What surprised me in some instances is that there were no pupil signs, which is a bit odd.

Incidentally, did you know the author of the book from which this test was taken, Simon Baron-Cohen, is first cousin of Sacha "Borat" Baron-Cohen?

Dammit, Matty! We'll need to find some others to be members of our harems.
