So, hi there. It's been a while since I've done any actual forum posting, but I met someone from here a few weeks back, and finally got around to checking it out (I believe it was Barefoot Bree, unless there's another Bree around here).

Anyway, I'm RyaB, which is derived from my first name (Ryan) and the first letter of my last name. I am an atheist, and have been for a while now. I work in the lab at an ethanol plant, however I don't necessarily have strong feelings for or against the ethanol industry.

I also have a degree in biology, and got a minor in ethics during my time in school, so I guess you could say I have more than a passing interest in science and philosophy.

Uh... Well, I don't really know what else to write, but there ya go. I can't say that I'll be hugely active for a little while still, since I've got a lot of work to be doing, but at least this way I won't feel as guilty if I pop into random discussions without having some bit of an introduction.

'Spose I should explain. I finally found a local non-believer's meetup group on my side of the river and went to a gathering last month, wherein I extended an invitation to the Cafe. Ryan here is the first of what I hope will be several to join, though there's no guarantee, of course.
