Well, I came back. It's been a while, but I see some old good names and some new good names.
Lots of things happening out there; I've been studying Pakistan. So I'm more political than I used to be. But I hope to get back into the science; I've missed having knowledgeable people to talk with.
As usual, I'm late.
I have some new smilies though.

I've had adventures.
I had another angioplasty. This time was because my anti-coagulant medicine stopped working, apparently entirely according to the blood test. No major harm done; scared shit outta me, though.
I'm resting; a bunch of honey-doos are piled about a mile high, so I might be hereagin-goneagin-hereagin for a while; that's once I'm done resting up from the surgery.
We had to move the Schneibsteress' mother to Seattle after she nearly starved in a home down in Arizona. The move was quite the saga; took about a month all told.
None of the "small fusion" projects has produced really impressive fruit yet, though both EMC2 and LPP are still looking promising (and I still think EMC2 is the more likely to work sooner; I remain convinced both will eventually work).
EEStor is starting to look like it has insoluable problems. They're just not coming out with something when they should be.
Pakistan is at the top of my watch list right now, along with the LHC. I have been following several blogs of LHC and color physics personalities. I look forward to gathering impressions from here. OWS is interesting, and the Eurozone crisis and Syria and Iran are providing plenty of material just at the moment. So I'll likely be posting about those things today, assuming I get through surfing here. Anyway soon. Very soooooooon. :D
hi shneibster. Long time no see. :)

Anyway soon. Very soooooooon. :D
Is that supposed to make me scared, tough guy?
I'm shivering in my bootsies.
Welcome back (again). I think your usual chair was nipped in your absence, and is quite the worse for wear; you might want to bring one from home. The blue recliner would do (and then I can borrow it whenever you're out).
On a serious note, though, glad you're still with us. Is mum settling in well?

On a serious note, though, glad you're still with us. Is mum settling in well? No. She hated the new place because it was boring and moved out three months later.
But she lived. So that's much better. She's settling in the latest place and seems content.

Hi Shneib. Glad to see you back.
Hope your health continues to improve.
I'd be glad to see what you think of my choice of mid range (price and spec, both) binoculars in my thread in misc.

Keeping an eye on the nutjobs with nuclear weapons. Ah. I think it's pretty nuts to keep things like that around in the first place. But a bit troubling just with the normal bombs lately, huh? Was rather troubled reading about the attack and subsequent sabre-rattling yesterday.
