I got a camera to mount on my motorcycle and I'm looking for some basic video editing software that will let me make cuts and transitions, and overlay soundtrack onto a video file.

That's really all I'm looking for at this point. Preferably something that's relatively easy to learn and use.

Thanks.

Yeah, it's called iMovie, and it's pretty good. I used iMovie and iDVD to make a DVD from some very old 16 mm film I had converted to videotape.

PC or Linux....preferably PC. Is there a PC version of iMovie?

Also....where's a good video hosting site for online? Photobucket allows up 5 minutes or 100 mb.

Bumpage. I finally got the camera working (there is a flaw in the design, but I figured out a workaround).

Any recommendations for a PC?

Doesn't Windows Movie Maker have simple editing and overlay functionality?

Win Movie Maker worked ok, thanks. I just wish it had some audio functionality (like being able to just strip off the audio). I found another software package that does that, though.

Windows Media Encoder (The WMV counterpart to WMM) can strip the audio or mix in extra channels. It's downloadable for free and works well.
