I have to say, I love this guy. But right now I've had it up to my ears with him. Perhaps it is because I have procrastinated with all my might in writing this friggin' paper, but right now I can't give a shit about his nominalism in relation to Russell's realism.

Many year a-gone, I took a General Philosophy class at Ga. Tech. I don't think I've actually read any of Wittgenstein's writing since then.
It was Kant, though, that had me tearing out my hair...

:) I must say, I was surprised by David B's answer. It looked like he was using a GEB reference to machine language vs. higher level languages.

It also looks like a nonsense word purporting to be a word in a private language.
And AFAIK in was a word in Hofstadter's private language, a word coined by him, and nonsense to everyone else, until he explained it.
