ok, as people find those pics that make your mouth water, those descriptions, those recipes that just make you need to eat...

here's a place for them.

Please share!

like this, from Homesick Texan...

I have no idea why Yorkshire Pudding isn't as popular here as England but last Thanksgiving I "found" them and get huge cravings for them. It's like fried bread on the outside and soft on the inside.

they are called popovers on this side of the pond, and they dropped in popularity after the 50's.

I make them.

I wish I could take such good photos.

My latest blog post (http://thecanberracook.blogspot.com/2009/07/truffles.html) is on truffles, but it's nowhere near porny enough.

I don't get at all turned on by pix of icecream, yorkshire puds, spud salad, etc. I always prefer fruit. My favourite of all fruits is the gooseberry (http://www.watercress-net.org.uk/wildlife/images/Gooseberry.htm), which is enjoying its all-too-short-season at the moment, but I also like loads of others such as these gariguette strawberrieshttp://www.provence-hideaway.com/entries/506regionalcuisine/art02/01.jpg or mara des bois:
http://images.whiteflowerfarm.com/29205a.jpg

I like pretty much all fruit raw, without sugar or other garnish.

mmmmmm....

we moved into a house with overgrown and neglected shrubbery (we use this landscaping service! They are expensive but good!---- uh, riiiiight...)

And we were pleasantly surprised to find out one overgrown and neglected shrub was a gooseberry! That has TWO babies--- one about 2 feet high! (the neighbor was all--- that's a weed, kill it please?)

Looking forward to pruning it back to health next spring...

take a snickers bar. Wrap in puff pastry. bake until cooked. Serve with ice cream.

That is damned hilarious! The next trick is to serve them at a party and get the pretentious sophisticates to pontificate on how fancy and high quality they are.

I don't have a picture of this as I haven't made any in a while but I'll try to make my words stimulate.

Take a basic white bread recipe and make enough dough for a loaf or two. After it has risen once, flatten it out into a round sheet about 1/2 in. thick. Crush a large, chilled bar of dark chocolate -the good stuff, >70% cocoa - or dark chocolate with almonds is good too. Sprinkle the pieces over the surface of the dough and then roll it up like a jelly roll, tuck the ends under and shape into a loaf. Prepare pans and let the dough rise in the pan until doubled in bulk. Bake with an oven proof dish of water in the oven to get a crust like a baguette. On a cool day, trust me, the smell alone will give you a foodgasm.

Nice, Roo.

My personal favorite: Rare roast beef on rosemary artisan bread with triple-cream bourgogne and avocado, eaten with an Arrogant Bastard.

Currently soaking local strawberries in Midori for a lark.
