Is anyone else into mountains?

We just walked up Snowdon (highest point in Wales) today. Unfortunately we had no views from about halfway up because of mist.

Yeah. Planned to visit the Ukrainian Carpathians last week, but couldn't go in the end because of some school-related bollocks. :mad:

Mt Shasta...we were just there.

I live in the mountains and hang in them as much as possible. I'm no Mt. climber... I won't be "doing" Mt. Hood anytime soon...but...

I've certainly been up a few mountains. As a kid I hiked up most of the presidentials in New Hampshire White Mountains. Hiked up Mt. Washington several times.

More recently I've been doing my mountain hiking at Acadia National Park. Been up all that matter there as well as Mt. Schoodic on the mainland. Of course those mountains are small compared with New Hampsire and New Hampshire mountains are small when compared with the rockies and other ranges.

More recently we've been getting the kids up the mountains on Acadia. They enjoy it.

I love mountains, how I ended up spending decades of my life living in the flat mid-west is a mystery. (Oh yeah, that "have to have a job" thing.")

I used to fly the Rockie Mountains as an air ambulance pilot, and the eastern mountains as a charter / commuter pilot. If I could figure out a way to do that again...

The new Snowdon cafe is nice enough. We spent about an hour there yesterday waiting for the weather to clear, but it didn't.

We walked the Glyders/Glyerau today. Very nice walk with good views. I'll post some pics when we get home.

The most incredible trip i've ever been on was a horse-pack trip into the Mallard Larkins Wilderness of N. Idaho. It is roadless, steep and full of wildlife. There of something like 38 mountain lakes. It's an experience I'll never forget.

Love mountains - flying over them so I can see entire mountain ranges, being inside them (caves) love the rocks and minerals to be observed in parts of the Appalachians. Awesome. Alas, my iron deficient blood doesn't allow me to go above 10,000 ft., as I found out while in Colorado a few years ago. Got to that elevation and was just a short and easy walk to the peak but I couldn't do it. Frustrating. My legs just gave out and I had to get back down a ways in a hurry. Double frustrating because I'd really like to see Machu Picchu some day. :(

On top of Mt. Cadillac looking down on Frenchman Bay near Bar Harbor. It was interesting how the fog was forming over the islands and then trailing out to the Atlantic ocean to the right.

Don't know the people. I should have waited for them to leave and get my own family in the photo.

I love them but I'm no longer capable of doing those lengthy hikes to the top.

I like chairlifts and cable cars.

Last mountain I was up was Huangshan in China's Anhui Province. Unfortunately the low lying cloud was thick and plentiful, so I never got to see the wonderful views that I'd seen so many photos of.
