every year i get invited to a halloween party thrown my my gaybors (gay + neighbors). i've been warned repeatedly that this is a gay high holy day and my lame attempts at costumes in the past aren't going to cut it this year. i love this party, its loads of fun and holy crap the decorations are amazing...

but i'm completely out of ideas for what to do. i don't want to rent some stupid costume, that much i know. so far i have attempted :

1. dorothy parker (bad idea - barely anyone got it, and mostly i got glazed looks)
2. static cling (i thought it was funny)
3. my evil twin (me, only evil. i know, but i thought it was funny)
4. tammy faye baker (i was upstaged by a tammy faye drag queen)

please, i'm stuck. i need to knock this costume out of the ballpark.

She had great makeup for Barbie or Vampire. Either would be cool.

Last year I was a flasher. About the easiest costume ever. Shoes, socks and a long overcoat.

The first person that asked me what I was quickly regretted it (well, maybe she regretted it more when she said, "A flasher? Show me!")

Let's see....

Previous years:

"Chimp"-endales dancer. Black slacks, dress shoes, ape shirt, gloves and mask, and "stripper" cuffs and collar/bow tie.

Rocky Horror.

Pedophile priest. Priest's robe with a "little boy" attached to the front (facing in with arms wrapped around my waist). I went to the local Salvation Army store, bought kid's shoes, coveralls, t-shirt and ball cap, sewed them together and stuffed them, then attached it to the front of the priest robes.

This year, I'm just putting together a modern gothic outfit. I figure about half of the people at this years party are going to be bummed that I'm not trying to top last year (I've heard some people talking about whether or not I'd be a streaker this year), the other half are just going to be relieved that I'm fully clothed. :D

A few years ago I strung a rope through a potato and tied it around my waist, allowing it to drop just into my crotch area. The fun is in having people guess what you are for Halloween, then at the end of the party you reveal your costume.

I was a dictator.

what are the costumes that get praised?

I guess I'm so in love with your Dorothy Parker I have issues thinking...

One year a friend and I went as dice. We wore derbys and black tights and white gloves and boxes we made up with dots and all. No one knew what we were till we told them then they thought it was cute.

if you're going to a gaybor halloween party you have to go all out. i just saw pictures from a costume party of some of my gay friends. they had the theme of "celebrity".

my favorite costume was lindsay lohan and samantha ronson.

I think the easiest might be to cover oneself with aluminum foil and go as "the Human Baked Potato".

(This worked better in the days before microwaves.)

Thats crying out to be reinvented as a zombie jacko one this year.

My husband dragged me to a GWAR show week before last and guess what part of the show was? Well, if you know GWAR, you may already have guessed. The story revolved around this mutant alien baby.. then Michael Jackson came out (he faked his death folks!) and started screwing the baby. They ripped Michael's face off and it was just bone and squirting "blood" over the crowd. Ah... splatter metal..
