One eyewitness said: “He told churchgoers he’d had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus.

“He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat.

“He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back.”

Would that more priests would demonstrate their faith by following his example;)

Or, others could follow Jesus' word that they can drink poison, handle poisonous snakes, etc. if they really believe.

Mark 16:17-18: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Go for it, folks! (Or even better, use some reason and start criticising these wacko ideas.)

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw in Prospect (http://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/issue/163/) magazine. Jesus is standing on a patch of water and playing golf. Caption was something like "Jesus had no trouble with the water hazard". Unfortunately, the website doesn't show cartoons.

the thing is, that his congregation would have taken this to be a sign that his faith was lacking, not that the whole idea was retarded.
