Yeah, I saw that in The Guardian. He's still amazing.

Thanks for the link, phands, I very much enjoyed listening to that. Terry actually sort of talks like he writes.

"In my religion, the building of a telescope is the building of a cathedral."

I love his mind.

:notworthy: Sure, I'm not worthy of Terry.. and how many authors do you feel you can call by their first name? Sort of says it all. But I was disappointed as I felt he was having fun with the cincept, thus making scoring points, but I think the Alzheimers is showing. I'd like to sit near him and talk, esp. at this stage of his life. I have a feeling that close to the man, one would find not a cynic at all.

It got a laugh when he put himself in the list with Einstein, Spinoza, and Hawking- but, you know, perhaps he really belongs there. :)

I loved the quote at the end:

I'd rather be a rising ape than a falling angel

Slight niggle: I wish he hadn't kept saying "monkeys" rather than "apes". I suppose it's funnier, but we all know how creationists go on about monkeys.

The man is a genius. I almost cried when I watched his program on finding out he has dementia. So unfair.
