The children's watchdog group and its 1.3 million members have often complained about Family Guy, as well as shows like Friends, Today, Gilmore Girls and the Live 8 concert. Previously, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane told The Advocate the following about complaints from the PTC: "Oh, yeah. That’s like getting hate mail from Hitler. They’re literally terrible human beings. I’ve read their newsletter, I’ve visited their website, and they’re just rotten to the core. I have to concur. I like his response to PTC, even though honestly I tend to agree with their assessment of Family Guy, if for non-religious reasons.

Seth McFarlane is a great rebuttal to all the idiots who say that the only atheists they know are sad, angry, unfulfilled, etc.... Seth McFarlane is one of the cheeriest people I've ever seen. He is constantly smiling (I bet he was even smiling when he made the quote above) and from what I've read he is apparently a very nice and friendly person. During the writer's strike he began to pay out of his own pocket, the assistants on Family Guy (the lowest paid workers) when FOX fired all of them on day 2 of the strike and he encouraged other producers to do the same with their own shows.

Good. So he's a good human being, and an atheist. That still doesn't make his material anything more than LCD humor for people who can't quite get the subtleties of Spongebob Squarepants.
