I was in NYC this week and saw a debate between Bill Maher and Ann Coulter.

Wow, Ann is really a dumbass. Here are a few of her points:

1)People on Wall St. are all democrats. I mean come on, you might be able to get away with that somewhere else, but you cant make shit like that up in NYC where WALL STREET IS! So, because of this, its the dems fault re: the whole economy thing. I think this was the first time I saw Bill Maher speechless. How do you respond to something like that? However, he did say "Where did you get that? From the University of your Rectum". Lulz.

2) Women cant be scientists. They faint. :dunno:

seriously, she said exactly that.

3) Evolution isnt real, but the world is old.... She brought up some shit about the cambrian and the lack of transitions between pre-cambrian and the cambrian. Then she insisted evolution cant be falsified. According to her, 1/3 of her new book is on evolution.

4) Biologists are not scientists. Apparently she doesnt go to the doctor, who is also a type of biologist... What makes this even more funny was she quoted Behe earlier to support her argument. Why would you quote a non-scientist?

I could go on and on about her bullshit, but I gotta say that Bill was HILARIOUS. He is so quick with his jokes its amazing.

Is Behe a non-scientist? I thought he was a biochemist.

But what qualifies AC to write a book about evolution?

I thought he was a molecular biologist.

Yes, he is a biochemist. Its still biology!

The fact that she has millions of adoring fans who will buy any book she writes, regardless of her total disregard for anything resembling truth or logic.

"She tells it like it is!" they cry.

She just makes stuff up. I can't believe anyone takes her seriously, but I suppose they do because she caters to their prejudices.

Does she have the same client base as Rush Limbaugh?

Exactly. That's her magic formula for making $$$.
Does she have the same client base as Rush Limbaugh?
It appears so.

Did you count how many times she flipped her hair during the debate? ;)

ETA: I asked because UB had a 'debate' between Janet Reno and Ann Coulter. It wasn't really, as Janet Reno had facts and all Coulter had was a big mouth and well ... her hair ...

Jeremy Levinsohn (aka Pudenda Shenanigans) was said to be "a natural" as a drag queen. "She" took very easily to effeminate mannerisms.

Is this going to be shown on TV? I saw an ad for it somewhere, and it seemed hilarius even then! Glad you got to go (and reported back)!

Dunno. There were a ton of cameras there, and it was at Radio City Music Hall, so its possible.

Heh, Maher called her "2-day Ann" because 2 days later you look what she said up and realize she was bullshitting.

I see Coulter is not doing so well with her book sales:

I like this line:

Could it be that Barack Obama's America has a smaller appetite for Coulter's brand of take-no-prisoners, obey-no-logic conservatism?

Meghan McCain (daughter of John) having a bitch at Coulter:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-03-09/my-beef-with-ann-coulter/

I find her offensive, radical, insulting, and confusing all at the same time...

...Are some of her statements just gimmicks to gain publicity for her books or does she actually believe the things she says? Does she really believe all Jewish people should be “perfected” and become Christians? And what was she thinking when she said Hillary Clinton was more conservative than my father during the last election?...

...controversy sells and Coulter is nothing if not controversial. Everything about her is extreme: her voice, her interview tactics, and especially the public statements she makes about liberals. Maybe her popularity stems from the fact that watching her is sometimes like watching a train wreck.
