For years under our previous administration, HIV/Aids were a non-discussion point, with a huge loss of life as a result. The new administration's take on HIV issues are of a more positive nature and they started an advertising drive on all the tv channels - the result:

HIV testing among men has increased considerably over the last 12 months, increasing from 24 to 60%, a nationwide survey has found.
Of those in the 15 to 24 age group in 2006, 17% of men and 38% of women got tested. In 2009 this increased to 31.8 % of men and 71.2% of women.
By being tested and knowing their status, decent preventative measures can be taken to curb the infection rate and medical care can be put in place. Its a better spiral to be in than the one of denial.
