Evony (http://www.evony.com)

Is it really free, or is the free version limited, and if you pay, you get access to more stuff? Not that I have time for something like that probably, but something to waste some time on occasion might be fun.

Unless of course, it's one of those games where you might come online after being gone a few days only to find your kingdom/village/whatever has been overrun by someone who plays 24/7.

I've been playing:

http://www.heroesofgaia.com/

but forgot until I saw your post. I'm afraid to log in and see what the veterans have done to my castle. I haven't logged in for a week.

Even if I were interested in playing it, I wouldn't, simply because of the awful advertising

Some of them basically are a shot of bra covered breasts

Well then, I can see why you want to add that valuable contribution to the thread.

Thanks so much.

ah is that the one on FB with the large breasted wench and the "your wish is my command oh lord" type shit.

I always assumed it was a pseudo game wank fodder for the "I put on my hat and wizard robe" type crew tbh.

Well as far as I'm aware there's nothing like that in the game

So really it's just appealing to immature men who will try something just because it's advertised with the power of boobs :p

(who I assume are then disappointed with the lack of boobage in the actual game)

What makes you think that only immature men are influenced by the power of boobs? :p

It's designed to rip you off as best it can, but you could play it for free.

Is it really free, or is the free version limited, and if you pay, you get access to more stuff? Not that I have time for something like that probably, but something to waste some time on occasion might be fun.

Unless of course, it's one of those games where you might come online after being gone a few days only to find your kingdom/village/whatever has been overrun by someone who plays 24/7.I played it for a good while. You start a city and develop it and its resources. As you grow, you have opportunites to increase in Rank and Title, and as you increase in rank and title, you can build more cities.

The first 7 days no one can attack you. After that initial period expires, you can be attacked and all your resources plundered and defenses destroyed and troops killed to the last man. And if you have more than one city, your cities can be conquered and taken from you until you have only one city left.

You can join an alliance, and people in your alliance can't attack you. Also, alliances make truces with other alliances, and they can be declared 'Friendly', which means you can't attack them.

It is free to play and always will be, per their advertising. What is not free is the purchase of game coins that allow you to buy things in the game to advance things, like your development of resources, or leveling your heroes, and all sorts of other things. And it just so happens that what you can typically get through the natural course of the game is really not sufficient if you actually want to stick with it and survive and prosper. So you can make one time purchases of game coins for specific upgrades that you are targeting or you can buy a subscription and spend a monthly fee on game coins to feed your habit. In the course of 4 months playing, I never spent one red cent on it, being unemployed, but I'd guess of the 3 alliances I was in on different servers, 80% of the other players in the alliance bought game coins on a regular basis.

It is free to play, but it is not free if you want to play well, and that is the point of playing such a game, to play well. The game designers know that. It felt misleading, deceptive and manipulative to me, so I quit it.

I'd be a bit disappointed if all men were (straight men anyway).

it makes you seem weak.

If influenced meant controlled, I'd agree. But Evony is just a game. It's trivial. There is little cost (actually none, since it is a "free" game) for checking it out. Without cost, all that is revealed is appetite.

on hte contrary, its a sign of self awareness to KNOW that you are a sucker for a decent rack and to take that into account when needs be.

thats my excuse anyway.

But you're checking it out solely based on it being advertised with breasts. Or at least the makers of the game assume that you would check it out just because of the breasts.

WOuld you check it out without the promise of boobage?

I might.

What the boobage did was to attract my eyes. I might not have bothered to click on the link if I hadn't noticed the advertisement. Then again, I might have noticed it and clicked anyway.

I've also noticed that book covers sell books.

Just to be clear to anyone that may be curious, there is no boobage in the game itself, only in the advertisements.

I was surprised by that. One would think that it would be a good idea to put some boobage in the game to go along with the advertising. They might retain some players that way, and produce more effective word-of-mouth advertising.
