I would argue that internet society actually is leaking into the real world in sometimes dangerous, sometimes okay ways. Good: the gradual abolition of money as pertains to art and music. Bad: American political partisanship and the destruction of the newspapers as an (at least supposedly) balanced source of information.
If real life were more like the internet the UK gov would have to recruit 50% of the population to spy on the other half 24/7.

A shrewd satire - and very comical. :)
Though virtue seems to be on the losing side anyway, perhaps in thirty years time the Internet will have extirpated clemency, trust, and honesty - and the brave new virtual world will make everyone suicidal.
