Jacqui Smith revealed she is “mortified and furious” after the cost of two adult films watched by her husband were paid for out of the Parliamentary expenses budget.
The Home Secretary, who is already under investigation for her housing arrangements, will pay back the cost of the two adult films viewed at her family home in her Redditch constituency.

If only that were the worst thing they spent money on...
It's quite funny, but symptomatic of the attitude to available cash.
It seems every day now that some MP is outed as declaring a friend's broom cupboard to be his main home so that he can claim for the expenses of his family home as a necessary second home.

Jeez, expenses for an Internet bill? They already get paid a ton, wtf more do they want?

These people get to "deduct" everything, for a second home even.
Kick the bastards out.
(The problem of course is that those likely to replace them are even worse bastards.)

Allegedly, they don't get as much as they might if they worked privately. And it's never the right time, politically, to pay themselves more officially. So many of them regard expenses as a valid salary top-up.
Or so I heard on Radio 4 last week.
Still, claiming for porn... what a wanker! :D

Apparently his TV package was a valid "expense" -- just not the extra movies.
Hey, I should try that: employ my wife to run my home office for £40,000 a year and expense that and everything else (except porn) to my company.
