India lost the first test against SA at Centurion. But Sachin cracked his 50tyh Test century!!.

Bradman the Don played ONLY in two countries. He played only against ONE country. In contrast, Sachin has played against in 10 countries and against every Test playing country. So in his career he has faced very many bowlers of EVERY type.

Fair enough. But on average, every time Bradman went out to bat, he scored nearly twice as many runs as anyone else, from his era or indeed any other, Tendulkar included.

I should imagine there's a case to be made for Bradman's record to be the most statistically significant in all of sport?

And I'm a pom saying this.

Still, congratulations Tendulkar, what a wonderful player. And to have hit such a marvellous vein of form at this stage in his career, astonishing.

:clap::notworthy::yay::cheers: Sachin!

A beautiful player and a phenomenal accomplishment.

Let's not forget though, that Bradman, but also players like Hutton, Compton and Hobbs, both had a lot less test cricket to play, and lost years of their prime to world wars.

Still, that doesn't negate what Tendulkar has achieved. He's so good that you can't help but cheer for him even when he's playing your own country!

Just an amazing player.

True enough.

I'd love, next summer, to see a first innings where Sachin scores a beautiful 120 no out of a total of 190.

Sure, Bradman has impressive stats. BUT he measured his skills ONLY against England. In contrast, Sachin has faced top bowlers from every test playing team. In his long campaign, he sustained lots of body hits, being the prime target of every bowler. Also recall that Sachin has played for a team relatively weak in bowling, hence he always had a pressure on him. Not so in case of Bradman.

Both are greats from different perspectives.
