Default Investigating a Miracle

A friend of mine linked to this page on FB, and he and I were recently debating the likelihood of it being a miracle. I just found the survivor on Facebook and sent her a message. It's time we got to the bottom of this.

If you're curious, I have been rejecting his God-caused miracle explanation and stressing that, from the video, we do not actually know what it was that caused the woman to be saved. He does not have such humility.

By any other name would smell as sweet.

I usually keep the sound off on my computer, so I didn't hear what they were saying. But it sure looked as though God had a lot of help there.

It seems they're trying to claim that when the car was pulled out that all the windows were closed so God must have helped her pass through the glass.

It's more likely that as the car went underwater and filled up that the pressure inside equalised which allowed the door to be opened (I dare say if I was trapped inside a car filling with water I'd be tugging away on the door handle fairly vigorously trying to get out). The door has then either re-closed with the force of the water or as they car was being hauled out (with the tow cable attached to the front of the car).

What would have been a miracle if God had actually spoken to her (texted or emailed even) and suggested that she didn't go out in her car or took a different route. Nobody seems to be blaming him for sending the flood in the first place either.

But, given the number of brave souls risking their lives to save her, I think it's fair to give them the credit...

It's a bit like this old refrain

It's the same the whole world over,
Ain’t it all a bleeding shame?
It's the rich what gets the pleasure;
It's the poor what gets the blame.
God gets all the credit for the good things (= miracles)

Other people have to put right his mistakes.
