Default Hello all

I used to be very active on forums, and wanted to get back to it. I wanted to find places where I could talk about philosophy, morality, ethics, and politics...especially where they intertwine. Unfortunately, I've been banned from most religious affiliated sites, so I decided I may as well join like minded people. I found this site first, and now I'm here.

I'm looking forward to learning from people more extreme than myself, as it seems to be here. I also hope people are more educated than myself, because you don't learn anything arguing with morons.

Welcome Rosetta. Banned from Christian websites or just general religious websites?

Welcome, Rosetta.

Some of us here have been participating on discussion boards ever since they were invented! And many of us have been skeptics for decades. I deconverted way back in 1970 (from Southern Baptist.)

I hope you enjoy the Cafe, and look forward to reading your posts.

You aren't alone there. Not speaking for myself since I never belonged to any of the Christian forums, but a few people here have participated and either left or were asked to leave.

You will find a friendly environment here even though every forum seems to have its fair share of highly biased participants.

Haha, not to be misunderstood my friend. Let me put it this way, I consider myself to still be in a deciding stage. I'm not sure if I'm atheist, agnostic, deist, nothing at all, etc etc. I don't know if I'm a utilitarian or more for personal liberty and the individual.

My sneaking around here has shown that many people here already seem to know, in that way they are more extreme than me.

SC isn't, but at least a half dozen of its members certainly are.

No need for me to give my opinion. Rosetta will find it to be self-evident.

Hi Rosetta, welcome to SC.

We have a good mix here, not just atheists but a few theists of various flavours too (heck, we have various flavours of atheist as well).

Hope you enjoy being here....

Hello, Rosetta! Having come here from SC's rowdier older brother, "extreme" is not the word that would have come to my mind, but of course you are quite welcome in any case. Unless I miss my guess, I believe my favorite coffee mug has an inscription of your namesake all around the outside.

Well let's see, if that Georgie Fame Rosetta was out drinking she'd have to be at least 18 and that is in 1971 so that would put our current Rosetta (of the O.P.) at about 50 .... Hmmm, what say ya Rosetta.

And welcome, my Northern Neighbor.

and with that the goblin showed and quickly felt that now was his chance to show the others here that goblins too, can do welcomes when pushed, whereupon the goblin hailed the young girl, saying "...welcome Rosetta, my pen is at your pleasure now, so allow me to befriend you here...", whereupon the goblin dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a red carpet with side railings, snapping paparazzi and all leading up to a black limousine whose awaiting door had been opened by the very man of her dreams himself who held out a diamond engagement ring in one hand and a credit-card without ceiling in the other, only that the goblin then turned to Rosetta, saying "...no, second thoughts, guess this is not your sort of the thing I suppose, so ok then, would you like some filtered coffee and homemade biscuits instead, I'm only trying to please now..."

"...here you go Valheru, anything to help then..." went the kind and considerate goblin now, adding "...and, you can thank me later if you wish, anything to help..." as the goblin in then linked something that he felt would help both the forum members here, as normal people alike, get the most from the goblin's posts
