Default Dick Clark dies of heart attack

Dick Clark, entertainment icon nicknamed 'America's Oldest Teenager,' dies at 82

Quote:
Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with American Bandstand, and whose trademark Rockin' Eve became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82, ABC News has learned.

Clark, who suffered a serious stroke in 2004 but returned to the airwaves, reportedly died from a heart attack.
New Years Eve won't be the same

My mom just told me this a few minutes ago. Came across the TV and I had been off the internet playing a game. The New Years eve show has sucked ever since he wasn't the host - Ryan Seachrest is terrible.

It just seems so unfair that people who have given others so much joy should leave this world and the real assholes just continue on stomping their muck through our lives.

I've always said the reason why there are so much evil in this world is because those who do evil to others shows the rest of us how not to act. It's times like these that make those words feel so hollow.

I remember watching him in the fucking 50s. He was widely known as "the world's oldest teenager," and so he was. I thought for a while he was never going to get old.

Farewell, Dick. You will be missed: you already were. As we Jews say, "May his memory be a blessing." I feel sure that it will.

I'm getting a bit annoyed with the local media saying he and AB "put Philadelphia on the map." Hello? It was already one of the largest cities in the US, not to mention the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Constitution written there. I think that's a bit more relevant than a TV show.

Dick Clark dies, thereby depriving us the ability to truly ring in the new year (bear with me here).....
