Default Dispatches From The War On Women....

http://www.care2.com/causes/dispatch...terrorism.html

These scum just never stop trying....

Quote:
Here’s yet another reminder why now its more important than ever to stand with Planned Parenthood. Literally hours after a district court judge prevented the state of Texas from stripping Planned Parenthood of funding, a lone 5th Circuit Court of Appeals judge lifted the stay and said the ban can, and should, move forward. The legal maneuvering came after the Texas Attorney General argued to the judge that funding Planned Parenthood was akin to funding a terrorist organization. I won’t re-hash the reasons why this is a dangerous and reckless legal argument to make here and instead suggest that so long as clinics continue to get bombed, elected officials shot and doctors murdered that this kind of intentional invocation by elected officials on the right is in fact stoking and encouraging of violence against women and health care providers no matter how hard they deny it.

It’s not just the state of Texas comparing women’s health care providers to terrorist organizations. Right wing hate radio compares the contraception mandate to being forced to kill your own family. For real.

With all these attacks on Planned Parenthood, here’s a piece to reinforce what is truly at stake this November.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) may be too busy campaigning to actually show up and vote for much of anything these days, but he always has time to co-sponsor another anti-abortion bill with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN). But don’t forget ladies, there’s no war on women going on.

Democrats look to hold a vote soon on the Paycheck Fairness Act which would update and strengthen the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Naturally Republicans oppose the measure while Mitt Romney wishes the entire issue would just go away.

Among those leading the fight on equal pay is Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) as this post makes very clear.

In North Carolina, a ballot initiative that would enshrine anti-gay discrimination would also remove domestic violence protections. while this pastor thinks parents should punch “girly” 4 year olds so they don’t become gay.

The Governor of Georgia signed the very poorly drafted “fetal ban” bill into effect despite the fact that he’s acknowledged not totally understanding the bill.

You know who doesn’t get enough credit? Public health workers, that’s who.

The crazy bastards are really, really determined to alienate 51% of their base? Okay, but it's just too bad so many people have to suffer so much before they lose power...
...or...Is there a chance Americans, including the female ones, are willing to return to the middle ages coz that's where god lives?

Maybe a chance, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I keep thinking about Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. Of course, like 1984, it's a fictional dystopia, but such stories are based on contemporary reality and perceived trends
